lone in lisboa

lone in Lisboa

a classic conundrum

that slithers it’s way to my mind

a sudden fulfillment

of dystrophic attachments

Childlike in its terror

in pockets of dust

what was left of us

is burning a hole in my palm

I wish I could say that / things will be different

I wish I could trust that / I’d be indifferent

but when I get off that plane you won’t see me

see me again

you can’t see me / see me / again

the cobblestones reek of memorialized piss

the feeling of wanting you back ebbs and flows like river winds

something stronger than me is lurking between

what’s been mine and what is now lost

there’s a hole in my palm

and a hole in the past

right where I tried to belong

will you ever / ever miss me?

I wish I could say that / things will be different

I wish I could trust that / I’d be indifferent

but when I get off that plane you won’t see me

see me again

you can’t see me / see me / again
