made my bed so now i rot in it

I’ve made my bed

So now I scream in it

A concept beyond both of us

suburbia hovers underneath me

I think of having dogs and babies

Secrets to die for but not for me

On New Year’s Eve my wheels were stolen

I never once left my apartment

I never once asked much of you

You don’t like people but you like me

I don’t know if that’s very flattering

I wish I could send you emails about reading literacy and the new-found dwarf giraffe

So I peeled oranges into the night

Just to make sure I can still hear its gasps

Our bones settled a long time ago

You tell me ‘bout her to make sure I know

You can’t admit it that you love me

I can’t say I find it charming

I wish I could send you letters over email

But I lost your stupid email or maybe I just made it up

I never once confessed my conscience / but

I never once asked much of you
