tomato season

tomato season

i know that this won’t last forever

we slept all day

and swam childhood waters together

i’m not trying to change the seasons

i’m not trying to give you reasons to

not give me the time of day

tomato season

inside your black truck

you let me drive for the first time in my new life

wet dog smell can’t mask my feelings

and i’m not trying to give you the reasons

i’m not trying to forget your demons

not to give you all the hours of my day

tomato season

gnawing like mosquitos on our toes

we learned to talk about how to let go

i know this won’t last forever

i don’t expect a foretold fable

but i’m glad i got you now

i’m glad i got you known

i got you now 🐇
